I haven't mentioned it before but when I was very young, my father passed due to leukemia. Cancer really is something that unfortunately touches each of our lives, and though we haven't found a cure yet, I know one day we will... but when that day does come it won't be the day we've beaten cancer, because when we look back at events like these... we'll see we've been beating it all along. I was saddened I could not make it in person this year, but that sadness pales in comparison to the joy of having been a part of this community in even the smallest (dare i say, most compact) of ways. Every tear, every laugh, every smile is a blow to cancer. So, thank you, TipoftheHats, for yet another year of kickin' ass. |
